These wonderful paintings, on preserved magnolia leaves, are by self-taught artist Benny Morrison of Crawford, Georgia. Benny began to paint on any and everything about 10 years ago. In 1995 he realized there were lots of magnolia trees and leaves on the farm where he lives. He said, "Why Not". This is how the painting on magnolia leaves began. The detail is much greater than I was able to capture in the photographs. |
